Stage Harbor Lighthouse and Keeper's House sit on a grassy shoreline, with the gathering clouds adding drama to the sky at sunset. The still water in the foreground reflects the serene and tranquil atmosphere.
Known as the most recently constructed lighthouse on Cape Cod, completed in 1880, the lighthouse was deactivated in 1933 and has become more of a monument for both Cape Cod residents and tourists. Since deactivation, the lantern was removed and the tower was capped. The keeper's home was converted to a private residence and tours of the lighthouse are by appointment only.
Stage Harbor Light, taken at 1/45th of a second, freezes the fast-moving billowing clouds, as well as the foreground water and the American flag sitting on top of the lighthouse.
